Dr. Joachim Will

DR. JOACHIM WILL is CEO of ecostra GmbH, an independent and privately owned management consultancy for the real estate business and the retail trade.

Beside consulting expertise in the optimization of the existing retail net of companies, the production of location and impact analyses and studies for the expansion planning, feasibility and profitability investigations for project developers and investors ecostra also compiles utilization concepts for shopping centres or analyzes the chances and risks, e.g., of a possible relaunch of a centre. The spatial field of activity encompasses all European countries, seat of the enterprise is the Hessian capital of Wiesbaden, Germany.

Dr. Will studied Sociology, Economics and Political Science at the Universities of Tubingen (D), Constance (D) and at the LSE London School of Economics (GB). His PhD supervisor was Lord Ralf Dahrendorf (at that time Dean of St. Anthonys´ College, Oxford). Before ecostra he served as Project Manager at GMA Gesellschaft fuer Markt- und Absatzforschung, Ludwigsburg (D), Business Manager of GMA’s branch in Vienna (A) and Head of Research and Consulting at Thomas Daily GmbH in Freiburg (D).

He is lecturer at the IREBS International Real Estate Business School / University of Regensburg (www.irebs.de), chairman of the study group on retail issues at the Society of Property Researchers (www.gif-ev.de), member of the retail committee at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Wiesbaden (www.ihk-wiesbaden.de) and author of books and various articles on real estate and retail development, in particular on Factory Outlet Centres.
